The Seattle Seahawks bolstered their defensive line by acquiring DT Roy Robertson-Harris in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars. To acquire the 31-year-old eight-year veteran, the Seahawks sent the Jaguars a sixth-round pick in the 2026 draft.
MOVE NEEDED TO BE MADE
The move makes sense and shows that General Manager and President of Football Operations John Schneider is willingness to give Head Coach Mike Macdonald all the resources needed to create a winning football team. What the Seahawks needed was some DL reinforcements.
First-round draft pick Bryon Murphy injured his hamstring in Week three against the Miami Dolphins and has been inactive for the last three games. Strangely enough, Leonard Williams was also injured in the Miami game due to a rib injury. Williams sat out one game and played in the Seahawks’ last two. The injuries have caused communication and timing issues not just with the DL but with the defense as a whole.
The Seahawks have allowed 868 rushing yards, which is 28th in the league, and are allowing five yards per carry.
EXPERIENCED
Robertson-Harris was an undrafted free agent in 2016 and spent the next four years with the Chicago Bears. In 2021, Robertson-Harris signed a lucrative three-year $23 million free agent deal with the Jaguars. In February 2023, Williams signed a contract extension with the Jaguars for three more, yes, this time for $21,6 million. Robertson-Harris was in London with the Jaguars when he was informed of the trade and is expected to be at the Seahawk’s Wednesday practice.
