Super Bowl Quarterbacks shine in Thursday practices.

They will touch the ball more than any other player on the field Sunday and  it is no mistake the Chief’s  Patrick Mahomes and the Niner’s Brock Purdy were focused, dialed in, and stood as leaders just four days before Sunday’s game.

BROCK PURDY SHINES

The Niners went through their most rigorous practice which last one hour and 27 minutes Thursday afternoon. The practice was  intense and full of energy according to Head coach Kyle Shanahan

“ Yeah,  usually  Super  Bowl practices  are  great.  Guys got  a  lot of  natural  energy.  They’re all  really  excited for  the  moment on  Sunday  and guys  just  want every  opportunity  to go  through.”  said Shanahan.

“Once the  game  starts,  it’s all  about  cutting it  loose.  That’s why  you  go through  everything  throughout the  week.  And you  try  to be  uptight  about every  single  detail and  cover  it all.  But  when  that  game  starts,  it’s  not  about  thinking.”

One player  Shanahan was quick to point out was Brock Purdy who looked good against the starters and reserves.

“He’s had a hell of a week,” Shanahan said. “Brock’s pumped up.”

INJURY REPORT

Tight end George Kittle (toe), defensive end Arik Armstead (knee/foot), cornerback Ambry Thomas (ankle) and linebacker Oren Burks (shoulder) were all limited in Thursday’s workout. Defensive tackle Kalia Davis (ankle), whose practice window to return from injured reserve was opened a couple of weeks ago, participated fully.

CHIEFS REPORT

The Chief’s practice was an hour and 18 minutes in length and was held at the Raiders  Intermountain Health  Performance  Center. Like his counterpart Brock Purdy Chiefs quarterback Patrick  Mahomes was accurate, nimble, and sharp. Mahomes threw three touchdowns to three different receivers, including a deep strike to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, in an impressive 10-play span with Kansas City’s first unit.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was pleased with Mahomes and the team’s overall performance.

“It was good execution,” Reid said. “And Patrick was sharp, very sharp.”

INJURY REPORT

An hour into practice wide receiver Rashee Rice walked off practice to get treatment after getting stepped on. The issue seemed to be minor as  Rice walked off the field without a limp when practice ended.

Asked if he was concerned, Reid said: “No. He got stepped on. He’s all right.” Rice has become a major weapon in these playoffs, with 20 catches for 223 yards in Kansas City’s three wins. For the third straight day, backup Nick Allegretti filled in for left guard Joe Thuney  who has a (pectoral injury).
