Seahawks add depth to offensive line select Anthony Bradford with 108th pick

The  Seahawks went with some interior depth on the offensive line with Anthony Bradford. The   6’4  332 pound from LSU is an excellent run block who needs some polishing when it comes to his pass blocking. Bradford should be able to provide immediate depth.

COLLEGE SNAPSHOT

Played 13 games last year starting 12 games at right guard and one at left tackle. He missed one game due to a coach’s decision

WHY THIS MAKES SENSE

Big player with size and strength. His strength is in run blocking.  During his conference call with the media, Anthony said the Seahawks spoke with him and that the team was happy with its tackle situation.  A sure sign that he is expected to play the guard position.

SHORT-TERM / LONG-TERM IMPACT

Anthony is not ready to start right away. Given his weakness in pass blocking. His strength in run blocking means that he could be a long-term solution at the guard position if he progresses. The Seahawks are thin at the guard position so picking  Anthony makes sense.

Starters at guard Damien Lewis on  the left side and  Gabe Jackson are solid for next season.
