The Seattle Storm continue their roster rebuild with the acquisition of Lexie Brown in a trade with the Los Angeles Sparks. The Storm sent their two second-round picks in the 2025 and 2027 drafts in exchange for Brown and a third-round pick
“Lexie is a prolific shooter and all-around great player that bolsters our backcourt” said Seattle Storm GM Talisa Rhea. “Her tenacity to make plays on both sides of the ball and ability to stretch the defense with tremendous range are great additions to our roster and we are thrilled to welcome her to Seattle.”
Over the past three seasons with Los Angeles, Brown averaged 9.2 points, 2.6 assists and shot 41.6% from the field, with career-highs 48.6% from the field and 41.5% from the 3pt line in 2023. She will be reuniting with former Sparks teammate Nneka Ogwumike; the two played together from 2022-2023.
ROSTER REBUILD
Brown is the seventh free agent to sign with the Storm in what has been the busiest offseason in the team’s history. The Jewell Loyd trade was the first domino to fall and was followed by the signing of Cente Li Yueru, Nneka Ogwumike, Alysha Clark, Gabby Williams, Erica Wheeler, and Mackenzie. Other factors that affected the roster rebuild were the offseason ACL injuries to Nika Mühl and Jordan Horston. Mühl has successful surgery in November and her return is to be determined. The news is bleak for Horston, who has been ruled out for the 2025 season.
The Storm’s off-season acquisitions will join Skyla Diggins-Smith and Ezi Magbegor, two hold over starters from last year’s team.
