Seahawks Veterans report to OTAs ahead of Mini- Camp

Another player to report early and looking to take a step forward is linebacker Jordyn Brooks. The 2020 first-round draft was hampered by injuries early in the season last year participating in just  29 defensive snaps in the first three games and landed on the inactive list for the teams ensuing two games.  Brooks recovered from the injury and finished strong the rest of the way starting in six of the Hawk’s final 11 games. The playing time inspired Brooks to put extra work in the offseason. With the team back practice, Brooks is ready for a breakout year.

The Seahawks have not re-signed KJ Wright meaning  Brooks will play a bigger role  on defense. Last year Brooks was  subbed off when the defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. went to the nickel formation. There is no doubt the Seahawks are expecting Brooks to take over for Wright.

“I wouldn’t say any pressure, but it’s definitely shoes to fill,” Brooks said of essentially taking over Wright’s roll, presuming he isn’t re-signed. “K.J. had an outstanding career here, he set the bar high for sure. There’s definitely no slack here, I’m just ready to get in and prove that I can do this.”
