Seahawks Injury Report: Jamal Adams Returns Chris Carson Five Others Out For Bills Game

The Seahawks have ruled out six players heading to Sundays cross country encounter with the Buffalo Bills . Running backs Chris Carson( foot), Carlos Hyde( hamstring), left guard Mike Lupati ( back), cornerback Shaquil Griffin ( hamstring/concussion) adn defensive end Benson Mayoma ( ankle) have all been ruled out for the contest.

ROOKIE TO GET ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY

The Seahawks rushing attack is set to start its second consecutive game without Carlos Hyde or Chris Carson in the backfield. Last week rookie DeeJay  Dallas was the featured back running for 41 yards on 18 carries, catching five passes for  17 yards, and scoring two touchdowns. One running and one passing.  Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is confident Dallas can improve on last week’s performance.

REINFORCEMENTS  IN THE BACKFIELD

Last week Dallas participated in 54 offensive snaps which were 74% of the offensive plays.  This week  Travis Homer and possibly Alex Collins will be available for reps in the backfield. Homer was recovering from a knee bruise last week and participated in just seven offensive plays. Collins was signed to the practice squad this week. NFL Covid-19 guidelines allow for a team to bring up a player from the practice squad 24 hours before the game.

DEFENSIVE REINFORCEMENTS

While the offensive side of the ball will be without some of its stars , the defensive side will see the return of Jamal Adams. The All-Pro safety made it through practice this week and will return to action for the first time since injuring his groin during the Seahawks Week  3 game against the Cowboys.

Before his injury, Adams had 21 tackles, three for a loss, and two sacks in his two full games prior to the injury. The return of Adams will enhance a Seahawks defense that looked like it turned the corner last week against the San Francisco 49ers. Defensive captain Bobby Wagner was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.  Defensive end  Carlos Dunlap a former All-Pro with the Cincinnati is game ready since his trade from the Bengals.

The  Seahawks defense will see the return of defensive end Rasheem Green. Green left the Seahawks week 1 game in Atlanta due to a stinger.  After returning to practice two weeks ago Green is ready to return to action.
