The Seattle Seahawks (8-5) will take on the San Francisco 49ers  (3-10) for the second time in three weeks. Seattle won the December 2nd home match 43 to 16. The game marked the return of former Seahawk player Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson had one of his best days of the season.  Wilson was 11 of 17 for  185 yards and four touchdowns and finished the day with a passer rating of 140.

Sunday should be a tough game with both teams looking to continue their winning ways Seahawks are looking to extend their four-game winning streak against the 49ers who are coming off a convincing 20-14 home win over the Denver Broncos.

Seattle is facing an injury of sorts and the depth of the team will be tested. Rashaad Penny, Bradley McDougald, and Doug Baldwin have been nursing injuries all week long

HEAD COACH PETE CARROLL

On the high number of injuries

“It’s typically wear and tear for some guys, not for everybody, but some. It’s just guys play so hard for so long, so late in the season, it’s normal to have guys that you’ve got to take care of during the week and make sure that they get through and they come out fresh out of the week. It’s really about all the recovery aspect of it. Some days, it’s just different for different guys and it’s not just constant, it just changes.”

(On the status of Rashaad Penny’s ankle injury from last week) “Yes. It’s not related.”

(On if Jarran Reed will play) “Yes. He says he’s playing. There’s no question he’s playing.”

(On if Frank Clark is okay) “Yeah. He got through today, did a nice job. Practiced a full practice today.”

(On how the week went for K.J. Wright) “He did well. He got reps today, this was the most he’s had. We’ll check in with him in the morning to see how he recovers and comes back from that. It’s really important how he recovers. We’re going to leave him home so that he can really work hard on it so next week he can have a chance to practice on Wednesday and we’ll just take it one day at a time and see how he goes. He’s optimistic about it and we are, but we really won’t know until the end of next week where he is.”

(On if Doug Baldwin is fine) “Yeah, he’s ready to go. He’s fired up and ready to go.”

(On if Frank Clark’s injury is a lingering injury from earlier in the season) “It’s the other elbow. He kind of did the same thing on the other elbow if you can imagine that. He got caught, he got hyperextended a little bit.”

(On if he will look to get J.D. McKissic more involved with Rashaad Penny out for Week 15) “He’s likely to play more, yes.”

(On J.D. McKissic’s progression since returning from injury) “He has not have (had many snaps) other than special teams, he’s done really well there. He’s really raring to go. He looks terrific at practice. He’s at full speed and he practices so well. I don’t have any hesitation about him playing in the game. He’s got some good things to do in the game plan, so we’re excited to see him.”
