Huskies ranked no. 8 in AP Preseason poll

The University of Washington was given the lofty ranking of eighth best in the country going into the upcoming season by the Associated Press.  Preseason rankings are just that,  an acknowledgment of the previous season’s accomplishments and the direction the program is headed in the upcoming season.

The No.8 ranking is the Huskies’ highest in 20 years.  In 1997 the Huskies received a  no. 4 preseason ranking in the AP poll. The Huskies finished last year with a 12-2  record that ended with a College Football  Semifinal Playoff loss to Alabama. The 12 victories tied the 1991 National Championship team for most victories in a season.
