Mariners Scratch Raleigh, Call Up Pereda Ahead of Johnson Celebration

Minutes before the Seattle Mariners were to begin their festivities for Randy Johnson’s retirement celebration, Cal Raleigh was scratched from the lineup.

Adding more intrigue and drama the Mariners called up Jhonny Pereda from Triple-A Tacoma

Roster Moves:

The Mariners placed infielder Will Wilson on the injured list with a fractured left thumb.
The club did not provide a reason for the lineup change. The Randy Johnson retirement festivities continued as planned, and so did the Mariners game with the Kansas City Royals.
