Mariners announce new event for 50 seasons celebration weekend

Things are a little rough on the field at the moment, but there’s still plenty for Mariners fans to look forward to come August time.

There’s no denying the Mariners are so far failing to live up to the lofty expectations they had entering this season, with plenty of media experts predicting them to represent the American League in the World Series. Yes it’s still early and yes this is still an extremely talented roster, but the 8-13 record is their worst start through 21 games since they began 7-14 back in 2020.

In any event, even as we refuse to lose faith in what the M’s can do, there is at least something for fans to look forward to while the team works on righting the ship. As announced in a press release on Friday, the club will be holding a Legends Photo Day VIP Experience on Sunday, Aug. 9 at T-Mobile Park.

Fans will be able to purchase the opportunity to take photos on the warning track with dozens of Mariners legends including M’s Hall of Famers Jay Buhner, Jamie Moyer. and others There will also be more players from throughout the franchise’s history, ahead of that afternoon’s game versus the Tampa Bay Rays.

The highlight of the weekend will come on Aug. 8, when the top 50 greatest players in franchise history will be revealed and honored in a special pregame ceremony at T-Mobile Park.
