J.T. Tuimoloau was a star at Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, Washington before becoming a top NFL Draft prospect. He helped Eastside Catholic win back-to-back championships in 2018 and 2019. Tuimoloau was a highly sought after five-star prospect, with offers from UW, Oregon, Alabama, USC, Ohio State. Eventually he chose to play at Ohio State University.
J.T. Tuimoloau’s career at Ohio State
After playing 13 games as a reserve his freshman year for the Buckeyes, Tuimoloau became a starter as a sophomore at defensive end. When Tuimoloau became a starter at Ohio State his college career took off. He earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors in all three years as a starting defensive end at Ohio State. Finishing his career with 144 tackles (45 for loss), 23.5 sacks, 2 INTs, and 3 forced fumbles. During his senior year, Tuimoloau helped the Buckeyes to a National Championship. Winning a championship alongside fellow PNW product WR Emeka Egbuka.
Are the Seahawks in play for Tuimoloau?
Although the Seahawks will have an opportunity to select J.T. Tuimoloau in this year’s draft, defensive end is not a high priority for them. Seattle already addressed defensive end depth this off-season by adding DeMarcus Lawrence. Also, the Seahawks have two young stars in Boye Mafe and Derick Hall still on their rookie contracts. Though Tuimoloau likely will not be in the Seahawks draft plans, he has several potential suitors.
Where will J.T. Tuimoloau land in 2025 NFL Draft?
When J.T. Tuimoloau hears his name called during the 2025 NFL Draft, he will go late on day one or early on day two. Tuimoloau recently participated in Ohio State’s Pro Day. Several scouts were in attendance, including representatives from the Bears, Falcons, Saints, Cowboys, Steelers, Patriots, and Packers. Mike Tomlin, the head coach of the Steelers, was notably watching over Tuimoloau’s workouts on his Pro Day. Whichever team selects Tuimoloau, he will be ready to produce for them on day one.
