Sounders FC have announced their preseason schedule for the upcoming 2025 campaign. The upcoming will be the busiest in club history with the team competing in the FIFA World Club Cup, Concacaf Champions League Cup, MLS Cup, and the Cascadia Cup. The club will play four friendlies against international opponents in Marbella, Spain to begin it ‘s offseason.
The Sounders will be playing a wide range of football styles in the upcoming season, and as a result, head coach Brian Schmetzer will be looking to create a diverse and flexible attack.
“We always wanted to compete because we were the Sounders, and winning games was important regardless of the tournament,” said Schmetzer. “[The FIFA Club World Cup] probably won’t come again in my lifetime, or maybe it will. I don’t know. Hopefully it would, but you never know. So, we have to do the best we can to enjoy the moment. We have to get everybody out and support the team.”
After the Marbella trip, the Sounders will host its only home friendly against USL Champion Louisville City FC on February 12th at the Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse. The Sounders will start the 2025 season whey trail to Guatemala to face Antigua GFC on Wednesday ,February 19th in game one of the two-game cup tie of the CONCACAF Champions League
2025 PRESEASON MATCH SCHEDULE
January 23: Sounders FC vs. Puskás Akadémia FC (7:00 a.m. PT) – Marbella Football Center
January 31: Sounders FC vs. Aalborg BK (6:00 a.m. PT) – Marbella Football Center
February 5: Sounders FC vs. IFK Norrkøping (4:00 a.m. PT) – Marbella Football Center
February 5: Sounders FC vs. Hammarby IF (7:00 a.m. PT) – Marbella Football Center
February 12: Sounders FC vs. Louisville City FC (10:30 a.m. PT) – Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse
