Seahawks return to practice looking to finish season on high note

The Seahawks returned to practice Monday afternoon, knowing their season will end after Sunday’s game with the LA Rams. The  Seahawks will pack their bags and head home,  while the Rams season will continue. The Rams clinched the NFC West when the Washington  Commanders defeated the  Atlanta Falcons. The Commanders and  Falcons game was one of the tie-breakers the Seahawks needed to fall their way if they had beaten the Rams on Sunday.

PLAYOFF DESTINY SLIPS AWAY

The stinger for the  Seahawks is that they had their playoff destiny in their own hands, let it slip away, and all that is left is Sunday’s game with the Rams. Head coach Mike Macdonald, there are plenty of reasons for his team to play its best game and finish the season on a high note.

“The first thing is it’s an opportunity for us to go get to 10 wins, and that’s important right now. There’s a standard here of what we’re trying to establish and show off our football character of what type of team we are, what type of people we are, and how we will play. The situation has changed, but the situation really hasn’t changed to a certain extent as well. We’re going to play a good football team that won our division, and we want to get to 10 wins.”

OFFENSE NEEDS TO SET AN EARLY TONE

If the Seahawks are to get their tenth win of the season, they will need to play better on offense. In the 6-3 victory over the Chicago Bears, the Seahawks could not finish offensive drives.  The offense has 122 rushing yards, 143 passing yards for a total of 265 yards, and just two field goals. While the Ram’s defense is ranked 24th overall, it is ranked 15 in scoring defense, allowing 22.3 points a game.

A fast start by the offense would be optimum for the Seahawks. A quick start by  the offense is something the Seahawks have been chasing all season. To achieve that goal, the offense has to play aggressive and sound football.
