The Seattle Sounders returned to practice after a few days of rest and recovery. The break was earned because the team dispatched the Houston Dynamo in round one of the Major League Playoffs. With the win, the Sounders now await the winner of the Los Angeles FC and Vancouver winner-take-all match on Friday.
If the Whitecaps win, the Sounders will host them. If LAFC wins, the Sounders will head to the city of Angeles for a Western Conference Semi-Final clash. Adding to the balancing act of resting and staying sharp is the fact that the semi-final match will be played on Saturday, November 23rd, or Sunday, November 24th, due to the FIFA International break, which is from November 11th to November 19th.
LIVELY PRACTICES
Getting back on the pitch was a healthy return for the players who are trying to stay sharp during the layoff. It’s a fine balance between having some time to heal knocks and bruises while staying in game shape.
MENDING FROM INJURIES
The rest has helped several players with their recovery plan and put them in contention for the Conference Semifinal. Forward Jordan Morris and Albert Rusnáck all have a chance to return . Forward Danny Musovski is no one of those players and is done for the season due to a quadricep injury. The Sounders will hold practice on Thursday and Friday, then take a three-day break and return to practice on Tuesday, November 12th.
