Before the team hit the practice field the Seahawks took care of their free safety position for the foreseeable future by signing safety Julian Love to a three-year contract. In his first year with the Seahawks last year, Love set a career-high with four interceptions and 13 special team tackles and finished third in team tackles. His stellar performance earned him a selection on the NFC Pro Bowl roster.
For head coach Mike Macdonald Love exemplifies the type of player he believes can help build a championship team
“Well I think it’s open communication. I think Julian is a guy that will shoot you straight and hit you between the eyes on stuff and you respect that. He has a great perspective on what he’s been through. What he expects, the temperature from the locker room can translate some of the messaging. I’d say that in addition to being a great football player, so we’re excited that it’s working out and he’ll be here.”
Ironically, the practice ended with a Julian Love interception.
