The Rave Green has suffered another significant injury. After Tuesday’s practice Head coach Brian Schmetzer announced that the Brazilian winger Leo Chu will miss 3-5 weeks due to a torn knee tendon. Chu started the Sounder’s first three games then sat out last week’s loss to the San Jose Earthquakes.
In addition to Chu, the Sounders have lost Pedro de la Vega ( hamstring), Joao Paulo (left hip ) Braudilio Rodrigues ( right hamstring), and Reed Baker-Whiting( hamstring). Stefan Frei received his first MLS start of the season last week against the Earthquakes. Albert Rusnack played 30 minutes in the Earthquakes game after being listed as questionable with a nagging ankle injury. The Sounders will play a second consecutive road game when they travel to LA to take on the Galaxy on Saturday night.
