Seattle Storm awarded no.4 pick in upcoming 2024 WNBA Draft after lottery draw

While it did not land the top in three previous years WNBA Lottery draws the Storm did land the No. 4 pick during Sundays WNBA Draft letter.

“We are excited to have received the 4th pick in the 2024 WNBA draft as this will be a critical piece of the future of our team,” said Seattle Storm General Manager Talisa Rhea. “As we continue our off-season, ignited by Jewell’s commitment to stay in Seattle, we know this draft pick, coupled with our strategy in free agency, will be essential to building a roster ready to compete in the upcoming season.

The No.4 overall selection is the highest for the Storm since 2016 when it selected Breanna Stewart with the No.1 overall pick. The Storm came into the lottery with just a 10.4% chance of landing the no. 1 pick. Scheduled to pick in front of the Storm is Indiana at no.1 Los Angeles at No2, and Phoenix at No 3. The WNBA draft will be held April 15th.
