After struggling for most of the game Seahawk’s offense atones with a late game-winning drive

The Seahawks offense started the game by scoring on its first three drives of the game to tease the sold-out crowd. It looked as if the Seahawks offense would have its way against the top-ranked defense in the league at 17-7 with just one minute left in the first quarter. The Seahawks did not sore another point until Jaxson Smith Njiba’s game with touchdown with 38 seconds left in the game.

MAKING ATONEMENT

Two three-and-outs and an interception by Geno Smith ended the half and left the sold-out crowd throw back wearing crows scratching their heads and squinting their eyes trying to believe what they were seeing. Things went from bad to worse for the bewildered crowd.

” I feel like if I look at my game, being totally honest with you, take away two plays, three plays, and we’re talking about a really good game. But obviously you can’t eliminate those; those things happened. Again, that’s something that I have been trying to be better at, not having those mistakes because those can hurt us. I feel like our team is such a scrappy team. ” Said Geno Smith in his post game interview.” “We find ways to win no matter what. I feel like if I can play up to my capabilities, up to my standard, who knows, like I said, where we can be. We’re one of the best teams in football if we play right.”

SECOND STRUGGLES CONTINUES

Just when the crowd believed things could not get any worse, they did. A three-and-out started the second and another Geno Smith interception brought rumblings and murmurs from the crowd. The play of the defense kept the crowd in the stands clinging to their last vestige fo hope. That hope was tested to the last nerve as another three-and-out was followed by an interception and a sack fumble giveaway by Smith by Smith. Hope was restored when safety Julian Love interception of a P.J Walker pass Jamal Adam’s headed into the air with just under two minutes left in the game and the Browns holding on to a three-point lead.

“Oh my gosh. That was in the air for forever. I was wondering, initially, how that got up there. That usually is not the rebound, off of a hand. And of course, Jamal is jumping off his head, boo, it’s in the air, and I came down with it’, “

Said Love after the game.

LASER FOCUS

A team huddle led by Tyler Lockett and Jason Peters just before the offense hit the field transformed the offense. With the ball at the Seattle 43-yard line and just under two minutes to play, Geno Smith pretty much put on the Superman cape and saved the day. Smith completed consecutive passes to Lockett for seven yards, DK Metcalf for nine, and Noah Fant for 27 yards before an incomplete pass intended for Metcalf. A defensive penalty for too many men on the field gave Smith and the offense an extra five yards. On the next play, Smith hit Jaxson Smith Njigba with a swing pass the rookie too to the end zone behind an exquisite block by Metcalf.
