Seahawks Joey Blount was carted off the practice field after injuring his lower leg during 11 on 11 drills. Blount made the team last year as an underrated rookie free agent from Virginia and participated in 11 games all on special teams. A knee cap injury ended Blounts’ season, and he was placed on the injured reserve list on Christmas day. The other injury of concern during the practice session was the wrap-around Devon Witherspoon’s left leg. The Seahawk’s top draft pick took part in the early portion of practice but watched from the sideline the latter part of the practice.
FIESTY PRACTICE
As for the practice itself, there were a couple of skirmishes between offensive and defensive players. The practice had an uptempo and crispness to it. The cadence of practice and the fact that players are tired of hitting familiar faces added to the chippiness between the players.
