The Seahawks bolstered their offensive line with the selection of Michigan Center Olu Oluwatimi in the 5th round. Oluwatimi has selected just three picks after fellow Wolverine teammate Mike Morris. He has ideal size at 6-2 ½ 309 pounds with an arm length of 32 ¾ inches.
COLLEGE SNAPSHOT
Frankly, Oluwatimi was a brilliant selection. In 2022 Oluwatimi pulled off a rare double. Winning both the Rimington (nation’s best Center ) and the Outland Trophy ( top defensive or offensive player ) in the same year. The Wolverines line was voted the best in college football last year.
WHY THIS MAKES SENSE
No doubt Oluwatimi is ready for the NFL. He accomplished all he could at the college level. The question is how long before he cracks the Seahawks starting line-up at Center. The retirement of Austin Blythe necessitated the signing of Evan Brown as a free agent. The drafting of Oluwatimi gives the Seahawks a long-term solution at the Center position.
