Terrell Brown Jr: Leader of the Huskies

Terrell Brown Jr Continues to have an Amazing Season

On Monday, Jan 31, the Pac-12 Conference awarded Terrell Brown Jr, a graduate student on the University of Washington’s men’s basketball team, with his second Pac-12 Player of the Week honor of the season so far. This recognition came after he helped the Huskies win at Colorado and Utah, scoring 28 points per game (ppg). Brown torched Colorado for 26 points. He then one-upped himself against Utah with his third 30-point effort of the season in a wild double overtime triumph. Utah and Colorado are just the latest teams who have had difficulty defending Brown this season. His 21 ppg and 2.4 steals per game lead the Pac-12 and are a big reason why the Huskies have surged to a 6-3 record in the Pac-12.

A Scoring Machine

Brown has been a prolific scorer throughout his winding college career. After high school, he played a season at Shoreline Community College, where he led the league in scoring. Then, he spent a couple seasons as a Seattle University Redhawk, during which it only took him 59 games to achieve 1000 points, the second fastest Division 1 player to do so in the modern era. After graduating, he transferred to the University of Arizona, wanting to prove himself at a higher level of competition. However, he mostly came off the bench and averaged less than double digit ppg. So, with another year of eligibility, he has returned to his hometown and is once again lighting up the rims.
