Seahawks Russell Wilson, Chris Carson Placed On Injured Reserve And Other Notes Heading Into Steelers Game

On the other end of the spectrum for Seahawks fans is Carson’s nagging neck injury that saw him miss the Rams game after splitting carries with Alex Collins in the previous game against the 49ers. When asked about Carson’s health status head coach Pete Carroll was upbeat.

“He made a really good jump over the weekend and felt way better, but coming out of that, starting to go back to work with it, there’s not enough progress made. So, it’s better for us to get him back and make sure that we don’t rush it back. And so, we’re going to just take this time—it is a delicate thing, he’s got something going on in his neck—so we got to make sure that we do it really well. So, we’re going to take care of him, it just seems like the right decision. The jump that he made was in his relief and he felt way better and all of that, but not ready to play yet.”

The placing of Carson on the IR list for three games casts some doubt positive Pete’s comments.

Whatever the outcome is regarding Carson’s time on the IR the Seahawks should be okay with Alex Collins. The fifth-year back started against the Rams and was somewhat productive. Rushing for 47 yards on 15 carries and grabbing two receptions for 25 yards.

Rookie cornerback  Tre Brown was taken off the injured reserve list after suffering a knee injury during training camp.  Brown could see some significant playing time now that the team has parted ways with Tre Flowers.

Also returning to the regular roster is former starting center Ethan Pocici who was placed on the IR list after week one due to a knee injury.
