Marines select Hector Santiago from Triple-A Tacoma in a series of roster moves

Zamora, 28, was claimed off waivers by Seattle on May 22 from the New York Mets and assigned to Triple-A Tacoma. He made 4 appearances (1 start) with Triple-A Syracuse before making his Rainiers debut (1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 SO) on May 24, his only Tacoma appearance to date.

In his big league career, he is 1-1 with a 4.08 ERA (8 ER, 17.2 IP) in 33 relief appearances with the Mets in 2018 and 2019. Zamora made his MLB debut with the Mets in 2018 and was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA (3 ER, 9.0 IP) in 16 relief appearances. He appeared in 17 games with the Mets in 2019 but totaled just 8.2 innings. Zamora did not pitch in 2020, due to the minor league season being eliminated.

The left-hander was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the 40th round of the 2015 First Year Player Draft out of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook.

Mills, 26, was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on May 23 after being optioned on May 22. He made his Major League debut for Seattle on May 1 vs. Los Angeles-AL, tossing a scoreless inning. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound, right-hander has appeared in 8 games with the Mariners this season, going 0-0 with a 10.80 ERA (10 ER, 8.1 IP) with 6 walks and 8 strikeouts.

The Spokane, Washington native attended Gonzaga University and was drafted by Seattle in the 3rd round of the 2017 MLB First-Year Player Draft. In 3 minor league seasons (2017-19), Mills is 10-6 with 25 saves and a 3.56 ERA (51 ER, 129.0 IP), walking 39 and striking out 158 in 105 games. He was added to the 40-man roster on Nov. 20, 2020.

Ramírez, 26, was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on May 21. In 2 games with Seattle this season, the righty is 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA (3 ER, 4.0 IP) with 2 hits allowed, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. He’s appeared in 6 games with the Rainiers this season, going 0-0 with a 6.48 ERA (6 ER, 8.1 IP) with 9 hits allowed, 3 walks and 12 strikeouts. The right-hander made his Major League debut with Seattle on July 24, 2020 and is 0-0 with a 3.28 ERA (9 ER, 24.2 IP) and 3 saves with 11 hits allowed, 22 walks and 30 strikeouts in 18 relief appearances between 2020-21.

The Dominican Republic native was selected by Seattle in the Rule 5 draft (6th overall pick) from Houston on December 12, 2019. In his minor league career, he is 16-21 with a 3.81 ERA (126 ER, 298.0 IP) and 7 saves, with 221 hits allowed, 179 walks and 335 strikeouts in 94 games (40 starts).

Delaplane, 26, underwent “Tommy John” surgery on April 13, 2021. The right-hander spent the 2020 season as part of the Mariners 60-man player pool at the club’s Alternate Training Site in Tacoma.

Delaplane was originally selected by the Mariners in the 23rd round of the 2017 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Eastern Michigan University. Overall, he has appeared in parts of 3 minor league seasons in the Mariners organization (2017-19), going 12-6 with 17 saves and a 2.29 ERA (41 ER, 161.1 IP) with 54 walks and 270 strikeouts. In 2019, he received MLB.com Organizational All-Star honors and was named to the AFL Rising Stars Team and the Mid-Season California League All-Star Team. He was added to the Mariners 40-man roster on Nov. 20, 2020.
