Senior guard Quade Green scored  17 points to lead the  Washington Huskies ( 5-17, 4-13) Pac-12  to a 62-51 win over the California Golden Bear (8-17, 3-15)  Saturday night at Alaska Airlines. Green, Hameir Wright, and Travis  Rice were all honored before the game during the program’s annual Senior night ceremony. Rice started for the first time in his UW career and hit a 3-pointer to open the scoring. Â
Both teams played some Rope a Dope for the first five minutes of the game with the score deadlocked at seven all. The game looked like it was going to be a straight-up heavyweight contest. With the frantic pace to start the game.
MISTAKE FILLED HALF
The frantic pace dissipated with a quickness and the game turned into an ugly slugfest for the rest of the half. Cal couldn’t buy a budget and the Huskies marred in a turnover fest. A Cole Bajema three-point with 4:49 gave the Huskies a ten-point lead at 24-14. Cal managed to stay with the Huskies despite making just 8 of 32 field goals for a meager 25%. Cal cut the lead to seven but never got any closer. The Huskies nine first-half turnovers kept the Golden Bears in the game as they went into the locker room with a 30-23 halftime lead. The Huskies made 10-25 field goal for a 45% field goal shooting percentage.
POISED SECOND HALF
The halftime adjustments saw the Huskies cut down on their turnovers while the Bears shooting woes continued. The Huskies managed just five second half turnovers and kept their poise when Cal took several runs at the lead. Matt Bradley led Cal with 13 points, but struggled from the floor. Bradley was just 3-of-16 shooting and missed all four of his 3-point attempts. The Golden Bears shot a season-worst 26.7% and went the final 8 minutes without a made field goal, missing their last nine shots.
Jamal Bey added 15 points 10 of which were in the second and pulled down nine rebounds as the Huskies had three players with double figures. Marcus Tsohonis scored 10 points as the Huskies made 21-49 field goals for a 43% field goal shooting percentage. Wright finished his final game at Alaska Airlines Arena with four points and five rebounds.
