The Seahawks will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Glendale on Sunday missing the services of Tight End Greg Olsen ( foot), Running back DeeJay Dallas ( ankle), and cornerback Jayson Stanley ( hamstring. Olsen was placed on the active roster last week after spending a month on the injured reserve list. The eleven-year veteran had one reception and two targets in the Seahawk’s win over the Los Angeles Rams. Olsen participated in twelve snaps which amounted to 19% of the Seahawks offensive plays. During Friday’s press conference head coach, Pete Carroll said the team made the decision to rest Olsen and get him ready for next week’s playoff game.
The absence of Dallas is not a surprise. The rookie running back injured his ankle late in the first half of the Washington game and was inactive last week against the Rams. Stanley was elevated from the practice squad before the Buffalo Bills game and had been a special team contributor before sustaining the hamstring injury in the first half of last week’s Rams game.
TRE FLOWERS READ TO GO WHILE SHELL , HYDE, RANDALL AND LUPATI QUESTIONABLE
The secondary will get some added depth and competition with the return of cornerback Tre Flowers who was placed on IR after the Philadelphia Eagles due to a hamstring injury. Tackle Brandon Shell ( ankle/non-injury related), Guard Mike Lupat ( neck injury), running back Carlos Hyde ( illness), and Safety Damarious Randal ( foot) are all listed as questionable for Sundays game.
