Seahawks Greg Olsen Will Start Practicing This Week

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll announced TE Greg Olsen will begin practicing this week after being placed on the IR with a foot injury in the Nov 19th Arizona game.

“He’s made an extraordinary recovery to get to this right now so we’re going to practice him during the week and see what happens, see how he does.“

Olsen was placed on IR two days later with a plantar fascia rupture in his left leg. At the time of the injury, some wondered if Olsen would be done for the season. Everyone but Olsen that is.

DEFIANTPROMISE TO RETURN

After suffering the injury in the second of the Cardinals game Olsen vowed that he would return before the season ended.

Since the injury Olsen has been diligently working his way back to the practice field in hopes of eventually getting game time. The two-time All-Pro and 3-time Pro Bowler’s work ethic has served as an inspiration to his Seahawks teammates.

Practicing with the team is the first step for Olsen. The team will need to make a roster move before he can be added to the 53 man roster. When pressed if Olsen would return for Sunday’s game at Washington Carroll was optimistic but non-committal.

“ You’re really pushing me now. Possible. We’ll see. We don’t have any idea. He’s been working out with the guys. We’ve got to see how he does on the practice field.“

Before the injury Olsen had 23 receptions for 224 yards and one touchdown.
