Sounders FC hold media teleconference
The Worldwide COVID-19 Pandemic tragedy has caused everyone to rethink what is important. The Pandemic has interrupted business for Sounders FC GM Garth Lagerwey and head coach Brian Schmetzer. The abrupt stoppage to the MLS season has created space and time for them to look at what’s important in life.
“ Hope that people stay informed with the newsreels and I also hope that people use this time to do some self-reflection, work around the house whatever those things that keep them mentally safe, “Schmetzer at the beginning of Sounders FC media teleconference Monday afternoon.
On March 19th MLS announced the postponement of the 2020 season with a targeted return date of May 10th. According to Lagerwey its is unlikely the league will be back playing by that date

The Sounders organization is communicating with the players ensuring they stay fit and have time to reflect on what’s important. The team has sent players, bands, arm weights ,and foam rollers to keep help with their fitness.
“ We are trying to be creative in any way we can to keep the players in shape, which is our number one goal, said Schemtzer.
PLAYERS INTERACTING WITH COMMUNITY
The players themselves have taken to social media to stay connected with each other and fans.
TWO PLAYERS TESTED NEGATIVE RESULTS
Two Sounder FC players have been tested for the Coronavirus with negative tests results. When the Sounders are give the go ahead Schmetzer guesstimated at about three weeks if the players have been keeping up with their fitness plans.
While soccer games are important the prime directive for the club according to Lagerwey is being good community partners and stewards.
