Sophomore transfer Quade Green has been rules academically ineligible for the winter quarter and won’t be eligible for game competition starting immediately, head coach Mike Hopkins announced Thursday. He is able to practice with the Huskies during this time.
There will be no further comments from UW or Coach Hopkins at this time.

The loss of Green is a major blow to the Huskies who were looking for leadership and stability from the former McDonald’s All- American five-star recruit from Philadelphia. Green took over the Huskies starting point guard position after transfering from Kentucky where he played the precious two season
The loss of Green, who was averaging 11.6 points and 5.3 assists in 15 games, is a severe blow for the Huskies who relied heavily on his leadership and playmaking ability.
Green, a five-star recruit and former McDonald’s All-American from Philadelphia, took over the starting point guard position this season after transferring from Kentucky, where he played the previous two seasons.
Green was averaging 11.6 points and 5.3 assists in the Huskies last 15 games.
