The Seattle Seahawks got another superb effort from Russell Wilson who continues his campaign for NFL MVP player of the year, a breakout game from rookie DK Metcalf and another Tyler Lockett highlight reel performance on their way to an exhilarating 40-34 overtime win over the stubborn and determined Tampa Bay Buccaneers .
RUSSELL WILSON IS THE REAL DEAL
There is nothing to say that has not already been said but given Wilson’s weekly recording performances it would be a travesty not to continue beating the Wilson for MVP Chant. On Sunday Wilson was 29 of 43 for 378 yards and five touchdowns with a passer rating of 133.7. Wilson threw to six different receivers and three of the five touchdowns were thrown to three different receivers. 13 of Wilson’s 29 pass receptions were to Tyler Lockett who finished the with 152 yards and 2 touchdowns.
DK METCALF HAS A CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER
Rookie Dk Metcalf had another outstanding game and continues to prove that he is one of the top deep threat receivers in the NFL despite being a rookie. The 2019 2nd round draft has had an attitude since he dropped from the first to second round because of whispers regarding his route running abilities. On Sunday Metcalf had no issues running routes past a Tampa Bay defense that played man to man defense on him.
Metcalf finished Sunday’s game with six receptions for 123 yards and one touchdown.
TYLER LOCKETT KEEPS GETTING BETTER WITH EACH GAME
Like Wilson Lockett continues to have another outstanding year after having his best season as a profession last year. This year Lockett has been targeted 72 times and caught 59 of the targets for 767 yards and 6 touchdowns. Lockett is averaging 130 yards per reception.
Despite their kicking woes and defensive lapses Tyler wan non judgemental and believed in his teammates.
