The Seattle Seahawks said farewell to beloved local hero Jermaine Kearse, as well as Cassius Marsh, Tramaine Brock and rolled out the welcome mat to defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson, Cassius Marsh, and Isaiah Battle to reach the NFL mandated 53 roster limit on Saturday afternoon.
Kearse the former UW player worked his way up from a 2012 practice squad player to a starter in the 2014 season. The Seahawks traded Kearse, their second-round pick and swapped seventh round picks with the New York Jets for Pro Bowl defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson.
The Seahawks wheeling and dealing resulted in the team receiving the New England Patriots fifth and seventh-round picks in 2018 for Cassius Marsh, the Minnesota Vikings seventh-round pick in 2018 for cornerback Tramaine Brock. Seattle gave the Kansas City Chiefs its seventh-round pick in 2018 for acquiring offensive lineman Isaiah Battle.
