The Seattle Seahawks announced their 17-man practice squad there by completing the team’s 53-man roster. The list is fluid and will be all season long wth General Manager John Schneider always looking to improve the team’s talent pool.
“We have to be in the area of leading the league, in terms of transactions. I know that in the preseason we had the third-most tryouts. Still, in terms of just transactions, whether that’s practice squad, movements, elevations, 53 movement, we’ve always been a high-volume personnel group. It has always been a tribute to our coaching staff to be open-minded about that, to be able to provide as much depth as we possibly can for them, ‘ said Schneider during Sunday’s post-practice presser.
PRACTICE SQUAD HAS A MIXTURE OF ROOKIES AND VETERANS
While the roster has a mix of rookies and veterans, all the players on the list were with the Seahawks at some point during training camp. For Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald, the key is not only to find the right guy but a system guy. Each team is allowed up to six veteran players—someone who can thrive in the Seahawks system. The four veteran squad players include Trevon Diggs, safeties AJ Finley and Rodney Thomas II, and running back Velus Jones Jr.
UNDRAFTED FREE AGENTS AND ROOKIES
The rest of the list is filled up with undrafted free agents and rookies. Running back Jacardia Wright (2025), Logan Brown ( 2025 Vikings), wide receivers Julian Hicks ( 2024 Packers), and Ricky White III. ( 2025).
Nose tackle Uso Seumalo (2026), DE Aidan Hubbard (2026), Safety Maxen Hood, and Marvin Jones Jr (2026). The Hawks also kept 2026 draftees NT Deven Eastern, cornerbacks Michael Dansby and Andre Fuller, and center Federico Maranges for another year on the practice squad. Because of Maranges international player designation, the Seahawks are allowed to keep 17 players on the practice squad.
