The Seahawks made several roster moves Tuesday morning. It was a bit of good news and a bit of bad news. The bad news was that the team placed fullback Robbie Ouzts on injured reserve. Ouzts was selected in the fifth round last year and appeared in 12 games. An early-season ankle injury landed Ouzts on the IR list on September 24th.
Ouzts was activated from the IR list on November 2nd and remained active until he suffered a injury during the team’s playoff game with the Niners. Ouzts participated in the first five days of training camp but did not participate on the 6th day. Uzts will now miss the 2026 season because he was placed on IR before the team’s 53-man roster. The team also announced that it had signed linebacker Aaron Smith.
SOME GOOD NEWS
On the brighter side, the team announced that safety Nick Emmanowori had passed his physical after ankle surgery last month. Mmanwori opened training camp on the physically unable to perform list. Now that he has passed his physical, it is a matter of when, not if, he will return. Earneras an integral part of the Seahawks’ Super Bowl-winning defense last year.
SPIRITED PRACTICE
As for the practice itself, it was another spirited session, with both sides locked into the task and tired of facing a familiar opponent. Quarterback Sam Darnold continues to have a highly efficient camp. On TueTuesdayarnold threw an eye-popping touchdown to Jaxson Smith-Njigba, who, like Darnold, is having a stellar business-like camp. Darnol threw strikes to Cooper Kupp, AJ Barner, Tory Horton, Rasand, and Haidt Shahid in the eleventh-on-eleven. Running back Velus Jones Jr. is taking full advantage of the extra reps he is receiving with a depleted running backs unit. The offensive unit of Gray Zable, Charles Cross, Jalen Sundell, Anthony Bradford, and Abe Lucas had another productive day in which Darnold was untouched and unhurried while in the pocket.
DEFENSE IS EFFICIENT AS WELL
As has been the case all training camp long, the defense fought back after the offense looked poised to dominate the day. Ty Okada, I received Donald. Leonard Wil iams, Bryon Murphy, Derrick Hall, and DeMarcus Lawrence harassed Drew Lock. When they were paired with the ones, the Seahawks defense clamped down on the Seahawks’ game. Several skirmishes broke out between the offense and defense as the competition boiled over. —The incidents are usual for most teams at this time during training camp. Players have spent the first two weeks competing against a familiar opponent and are now itching to face an unfamiliar one. For the non-starters, the announcement will be made on Saturday, when the team hosts the Dallas Cowboys in its first preseason game.
