The Estate of Paul G. Allen has entered into a formal sale agreement with the ownership group led by the Khosla family, according to a team press release. According to the release, the Kholsa family, led by Vinod Khosla, his wife Neeru, and their son Neal, has agreed to a purchase price of $9.612 billion. That price would surpass the $6.05 billion the Josh Harris Group paid to buy the Washington Commanders in 2023. For final ratification, a least 24 of the remaining 31 owners would need to approve it.
FIRST MINORITY OWNERSHIP
A memo circulated to all league owners on Saturday morning stated that Neeru would be the controlling partner, with her son, Neal, in a significant leadership role. The memo stated that the Khosla family would have to give up their minority interest ( 3%) in the San Francisco 49ers, which they bought last year. With Neeru being the controlling partner, the Seahawks would be the first NFL franchise to have a minority as a major controlling partner.
