Seahawks hold last practice in Seattle before traveling to the Bay Area

The Seattle Seahawks held their last practice at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center on Friday afternoon before departing for San Jose on Sunday morning. The players and coaches were trying to keep to their normal schedule and minimize distractions. Some of those distractions included filling out their ticket request for Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8th.

” I am really excited for my teammates and family,” said Byron Murphy. ” To tell you the truth, I am ready to focus on football”.

After Friday’s practice, the team will travel to San Jose and take part in the mandated Super Bowl team media obligations on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, and will begin game planning for the New England Patriots.

I think you’re looking at it, big picture what we’re trying to achieve over the next two weeks, and then ‘Hey, let’s drill down day by day of what we’re trying to accomplish on a now-by-now type of basis. Today is a Thursday for us, so we’re going to go have a heck of a Thursday practice. We just had a great walk-through. That’s what our focus is “, said Mike Macdonald.” Then when that’s done, we’ll shift our focus to the next thing. It’s all in the spirit of how we want to handle the two weeks.

As for next week’s game week preparations, Macdonald and his staff will be intentional to make sure everything is as close to a normal routine as possible.

“Next week, once Wednesday hits, it’ll be the same cadence. Just there’s some extra stuff, too. I think there’s some extra media obligations and that sort of thing, travel time. There’s some variables that we normally don’t deal with here. We’ll take those in stride and keep rocking and rolling.” said Macdonald.

REPORTED SALE OF THE TEAM

Just as the team finished practicing, Brady Henderson and Seth Wickersham of ESPN reported that the Seahawks’ ownership has discussed selling the team after the Super Bowl at a recent owners’ meeting.

Some quick investigative reporting by Greg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune prompted a response from the Seahawks overnship group.
