While the hope is that they will not participate in this year’s Pro Bowl Games, six Seahawks players were acknowledged for their outstanding performances this season. Leonard Williams, Devon Witherspoon, Rashid Shaheed, Sam Darnold, and DeMarcus Lawrence were named to the 2026 Pro Bowl Games
The Pro Bowl games will be held in Santa Clara as part of the Super Bowl festivities. The festivities include a skills competition and a 7-on-7 flag football game on February 3rd. This year’s Super Bowl will be played at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara on February 8th. The six Pro-Bowl selections are tied for the second-highest selections in team history. Six previous teams in franchise history (1984, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020) have placed seven or more players.
All six of the players have played an integral part in the Seahawks’ 12-3 record. If the Seahawks win out in their last two games, they will win the NFC West and own the No. 1 seed in the NFC. A Seahawks win, and a Rams or Niners loss would see the Seahawks win the NFC West.
2023 DRAFT CLASS FRIENDS AND COMPETITORS
Two of the Seahawks’ six players placed on the Pro Bowl roster, Smith-Njigba and Witherspoon, were drafted in the first round in the 2023 draft. Withespoon paid instant dividends, being named a Pro Bowler all three years. Three other Seahawks players have been a Pro Bowl selections in their first three years: Russell Wilson (2012-2015), linebacker Lofa Tatupu (2005-2007), and Fred Young (1984-1987).
CONSISTENT METEORIC RISE
For Smith-Njigba, the rise to the top has been a steady ascent.
In 2023, his 63 receptions were the second-most receptions by a rookie in franchise history, and along with Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, gave Seattle three receivers with 60-plus catches in a season for the first time in franchise history. In 2024 Smith-Njigba tied the franchise record with 100 receptions, which was 9th in the NFL and he also set career highs in receiving yards ( 1,130) and touchdowns ( 6)
Through 15 games, Smith-Njigba is the league’s leading receiver with 1,637 receiving yards, a single-season franchise record by more than 300 yards, and his 104 receptions are also a franchise record, while his 10 receiving touchdowns are tied for the third most in the league. He was also named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for October.
“It’s an honor. It’s an honor to be selected, and credit goes out to everyone involved, my teammates, coaches, and everything. It’s a proud moment,’said Jaxson Smith-Njigba.
DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE
This is the third Pro Bowl placement for Williams. His first was with the New York Jets in 2016 the last two have been with the Seahawks. Last season, he was a replacement. That is not the case this year for Williams, who is tied with Byron Murphy for the team lead in sacks with seven, leads the team with 22 quarterback hits, and is tied for second in tackles for loss with nine.
From the moment he signed with the Seahawks in the offseason, Lawrence has been the consummate professional on and off the field. Head Coach Mike Macdonald has praised the 12-year veteran’s work ethic. Lawrence is tied for the team lead in tackles for a loss with ten.
“I expected exactly what I said, to be a part of a Super Bowl team. The Lord partnered with my words; everything is coming to fruition,’ said Lawrence during his Wednesday’s press conference with the media. ” I’m excited about the journey, excited to be here, and I got to continue to fight the good fight.”
He earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week Honors in Week 10 after scoring two touchdowns on two fumble recoveries against the Arizona Cardinals.
STEADY IN THE MIDDLE
Lawrence and Darnold were offseason acquisitions. After the Seahawks traded Geno Smith to the Raiders, Darnold became the Seahawks’ top target. Darnold has completed a career-best 67.2 percent of his passes for 3,703 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions, giving him a 100.6 passer rating. This makes two consecutive All-Pro selections for Donald.
TIPPING THE SCALES
Shaheeds midseason acquisition cemented the Seahawks as a complete team on all three phases of the game. In a span of three weeks, Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown. After returning a 100-yard kickoff return against the Falcons, Shaheed returned a game-turning 58-yard 58punt return against the Rams. He was named Special Team Player of the Week in Week 14 for his 100 kickoff return against the Falcons.
