A QUICK LOOK

The Sounders and Loons played two games this season, and for the first time since 2017, Minnesota won both matches to earn the season sweep. The first match between the two clubs was on June 1st  at  Lumen Field. A 3-2 win by the Loons saw them walk away with their first win in Seattle.  The Loons swept the season series with  1-0  home win on August 16th.

Straight to penalties

In Round One, every game has a winner; there are no ties and no aggregate score. If a match is tied at the end of regulation, no extra time is played, and teams instead go straight to penalty kicks to determine the winner. The first team to win two matches in the series advances to the Conference Semifinals, at which point all ensuing matches revert to single-elimination.
