The Huskies are rebuilding the trenches on both sides of the ball

This spring, the Huskies have hit the recruiting trail hard, collecting commitments from key O-line and D-line recruits. Recently, they snagged a commitment from offensive lineman Dominic Harris, a three-star recruit from Las Vegas, Nevada. Harris received offers from Georgia and Texas shortly after verbally committing to UW, but he has stayed committed to the Huskies. Securing Harris’s commitment was crucial, considering Alabama just snagged key O-line recruiting target Samuel Utu. Despite missing out on Utu, the Huskies still have a talented group of linemen headed to UW in their 2026 recruiting class.

The Huskies flipped Five-Star OT Kodi Greene

Offensive tackle Kodi Greene sent Husky Twitter into a frenzy when he announced he would be flipping his commitment from Oregon to UW. This was a big win for the Huskies in their recruiting battle with cross-state rival Oregon. Since Greene announced his decision to come to Washington, he has been actively supporting UW’s recruiting efforts on X. Greene could play a factor in other recruiting battles with the Ducks. He showed support to five-star DB Brandon Arrington when he visited UW on May 30th. Oregon is currently competing with UW for Arrington’s commitment. Greene’s impact on the future of the Huskies both on and off the field will be interesting to follow.

UW reels in the best 2026 in-state recruit, Edge Rusher Derek Colman-Brusa

In addition to making huge pick-ups on the offensive side of the ball, the Huskies earned a big D-line commitment this spring. Receiving a commitment from the top recruit in the state of Washington, edge rusher Derek Colman-Brusa. The 6’5 260 lb defensive lineman has recorded about 45 tackles for loss in each of his last two seasons at Kennedy Catholic. Colman-Brusa has the unique ability to play as both a defensive tackle and a defensive end. He can get after the QB from the edge, while also affecting the run game playing out of the three-technique on the interior. The Huskies are hoping Colman-Brusa will become a cornerstone of their defensive line for 2026 and beyond.

Five-Star Edge Rusher Tristian Givens visits UW

Another defensive lineman to watch for in recruiting is edge rusher Tristian Givens. The Huskies brought in Givens for a visit this past weekend. Givens is currently ranked as the third-best edge rusher in the country according to 247 Sports in the 2026 recruiting class. The competition for recruiting Tristian Givens is fierce, as he has offers from Texas A&M, USC, Tennessee, and Florida State. With their pursuit of Givens, the Huskies continue to show a desire for adding talented edge rushers who can make an instant impact.
