Rayshawn Jenkins returns to practice.

Safety Rayshawn Jenkins returned to the practice field Wednesday afternoon after missing the past four games due to a hand injury. Jenkins suffered a hand injury during the Giants game in week five, played in the team loss to the Niners the following week, and had surgery following the game.

Coby Bryant started the last four games instead of Jenkins, who had started the first six games of the season before his injury. Bryant recorded 26 tackles, one quarterback hit, and three pass defense. Jenkins was a full practice participant on Wednesday, meaning head coach Mike Macdonald will have to decide who will start in Sunday’s pivotal Divisional showdown with the Arizona Cardinals. In addition to Bryant, Ty Okada and K’von Wallace, before his injury, played significant roles in providing depth at the safety position.

Well, we’re getting some depth back. We’re missing K’Von (Wallace) right now. But, Ty (Okada) being able to step up, getting Rayshawn (Jenkins) back probably this week, I mean it’s just good problems to have, said Macdonald.

“Good players, (that) play multiple spots. You don’t want to get too cute with it because then you get kind of in disarray a little bit. So, trying to maximize our continuity back there as well as seamlessly getting Rayshawn back into into the fold. So yeah, it’s exciting.”

Wallace was placed on IR on November 11th after an ankle injury in the Rams game on November 3rd .
