Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer has been named Pac-12 Coach of the Year, and a total of 14 Husky football players earned All-Pac-12 honors today as the conference office announced its postseason awards.
DeBoer, who was Pac-12 Co-Coach of the Year in 2022, earned the honor in 2023 after having led the Huskies to a perfect 13-0 record, including a win in the Pac-12 Football Championship Game, and a berth in the College Football Playoff. No. 2-seeded UW will take on No. 3 Texas in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Jan 1. in New Orleans.
Four UW players were named to the All-Pac-12 first team: wide receiver Rome Odunze, offensive lineman Troy Fautanu, defensive lineman Bralen Trice and linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio.
Both Odunze and Trice were first-team selections in 2022, while Fautanu was a second-team selection last year. Ulofoshio was second-team All-Pac-12 in 2020.
Another four earned second-team honors: quarterback Michael Penix Jr., running back Dillon Johnson, offensive lineman Parker Brailsford and defensive back Jabbar Muhammad.
Additionally six UW players earned honorable mention: offensive lineman Roger Rosengarten, defensive lineman Zion Tupuola-Fetui, linebacker Carson Bruener, defensive back Dominique Hampton, and tight ends Devin Culp and Jack Westover.
