A brace by captain Nicolas Lodeiro gave the Seattle Sounders some solace to end the 2022 season. The Sounders were knocked out of playoff contention last week after a 1-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City. In 2022 the Sounders became the first MLS Club to win the CONCACAF Champions League. The Sounders will need to make some off-season changes if they are too return to the playoffs and make a run at another MLS Cup.
POST GAME NOTES
- With the draw, Sounders FC concludes its 2022 regular season campaign with 41 points (12-17-5), good for 11th in the Western Conference.
- Seattle finishes the 2022 season with a record of 16-17-10 across all competitions.
- Lodeiro’s goal 25 seconds into the match was the second-fastest goal scored in club history, trailing only Clint Dempsey’s goal 23 seconds into a match against San Jose on March 14, 2015.
- With the brace today, Lodeiro now has 40 career MLS regular-season goals and 57 across all competitions for Sounders FC, the latter of which ties Dempsey for third all-time in club history.

- Stefan Cleveland started in goal for Seattle on Sunday, marking his seventh appearance of the regular season between the posts.
