Geno Smith named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith continues to surprise that outside of the Vmac with his stellar performance. Smith was named NFC Offensive player of the week Monday for his play during the Seahawks’ 48-45 win over the Detroit Lions

This is Smith’s second career Player of the Week award, having previously won it as a rookie in 2013. He is the second Seahawks player to win Player of the Week honors this season, joining Uchenna Nwosu, who was recognized for his performance in Seattle’s Week 1 win over the Broncos. ROSTER MOVES

Seahawks defensive end L.J. Collier, who missed the first four games of the season on injured reserve, has been designated to return to practice. The Seahawks re-signed center Joy Hunt to the practice squad. To make room for Hunt the Seahawks released Cornerback Quandre Mosely Hunt, who was selected by Seattle in the sixth round of the 2016 draft, appeared in 34 games with the Seahawks, starting 11, including eight starts in 2019.
