Sounders FC head coach Brian Schmetzer looking for consistency in the upcoming clash with Rapids

Sounders FC head coach Brian Schmetzer was coy about what his line will be when his team host the Colorado Rapids Saturday at Lumen Field. After watching his team bumble and stumble to a three-game losing streak without a goal, the cloak and dagger routine can be forgiven to a coach who is willing to pull out all the stops to get his team back on the winning side.

GAME NOTES

• After falling to Chicago FC 1-0 at Soldier Field last weekend, Seattle Sounders FC looks to climb the table as it welcomes the Colorado Rapids to Lumen Field on Saturday, July 23 (7:00 p.m. PT / FOX 13+, Prime Video, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).

• The matchup marks the 23nd meeting between the two sides in regular-season play. Seattle leads the series 19-8-4, the most wins for the Rave Green against any opponent, including a 12-2-1 mark at home. • The two clubs have also met on three occasions in the postseason, with Sounders FC winning all three matchups by a combined score of 5-1.

• Seattle currently sits in ninth place in the Western Conference with 26 points through 20 games played, while Colorado sits in 12th place in the Western Conference with 24 points through 20 matches.

• This is the second time that these two sides have met this season, with Colorado winning 1-0 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on May 22.

• Following Saturday’s matchup, Sounders FC travels to Western Conference leading LAFC on Friday, July 29 for a nationally-televised matchup (7:00 p.m. PT / FS1, FOX Deportes, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).
