With Cascadia rivals, Portland Timbers preparing for Saturday’s epic clash at Lumen Field Sounders Sporting Director Craig Waibel broke the news regarding head coach Brian Schmetzer.

During his weekly radio show on KJR Schmetzer also confirmed star striker Raul Ruidiaz will return to the starting lineup Saturday. The Peruvian had been sidelined because of a hamstring injury sustained on June 14 against Vancouver. He returned to training this week.
“Raul’s gonna start,” Schmetzer said. “He’s ready to go. He’s been a Portland killer.”
