Seahawks rookie Charles Cross acts as his own agent inks deal.

Now that he is officially a Seahawk rookie Charles Cross can concentrate on making a lasting first impression. Make that a lasting second impression. Cross already made a favorable first impression with the Hawks when he acted as his own agent and signed a standard four-year worth $21.38 million with a signing bonus of $12.73 million. The deal also includes a team option for the fifth year which is customary for all first-round draft picks.

STANDARD CONTRACT

The way collective bargain agreement between the players and owners first-round draft compensation is decided by where they are drafted in the first round. Cross being the ninth pick overall signed an equitable contract for both sides.

Seattle also still has to sign three of its other top picks — second-rounders Boye Mafe (edge rusher) and Ken Walker III (running back) and fourth-rounder Coby Bryant (cornerback).

Mafe and Walker will carry cap hits of $1.7 million and $1.6 million when they sign (and Bryant $942,744).

Here is a projected amount on each draft round.

Using Spotrac’s projections, here’s the average salary in total value for players drafted in each round:

First round: $18.4 million
Second round: $6.9 million
Third round: $4.4 million
Fourth round: $3.3 million
Fifth round: $2.95 million
Sixth-round: $2.8 million
Seventh round: $2.7 million

Cross has been working with the first unit at left tackle with the expectation that he will start there, and the Seahawks will negate signing  Duane  Brown.
