Yes, it was a preseason game but do not tell the 5400 plus fans that attended the Seattle Storm’s first game in the shiny new digs of Climate Pledge Arena. And give credit to the Storm players and coaches for not letting down the Storm faithful.
With Sue Bird taking the night off for load management purposes Jewell Loyd made it a point for the team to start on the front foot. Loyd scored 15 of the Storm’s 31 first-quarter points. The Storm never looked back from the early lead and the starrry-eyed crowd spent the rest of the night high flying each other cheering on their beloved Storm and breaking in the new digs.

Saturday was the first game for Stewart in more than a year. Stewart underwent surgery for a minor repair and reinforcement of the Achilles tendon in her left last October.
” I definetly feel like I passed a milestone given that this was my first game back since the surgery . It felt good to run on it in a non controlled environement. Even though I was under limited minutes It feels good to be back.
Stewart said during the teams post game conference. Loyd finished the game with with 18 points and six rounds. Both of the WNBA All- Stars were pleased with the new digs.
