Mariners: 3 takeaways from series loss versus Chicago White Sox

  • Logan Gilbert continued his excellent start to 2022, allowing just four hits and one run — unearned — in 5.0 innings; he also struck out four batters, as he claimed his first win of the season.
  • Seattl leads the AL with 31 walks and is tied for fourth overall in the Majors; the San Diego Padres lead MLB with 36 walks.
  • The Mariners are now 1-0 to start the year in road trip finales following Thursday’s win; last season they were 8-3 in road trip finales and overall have won each of their last five extending back to 2021.
