Seahawks Bobby Wagner And Quandre Diggs Named To 2022 Pro Bowl

Two of the Seahawk’s most consistent and efficient starters, linebacker Bobby Wagner and free safety  Quandre Diggs were named to the NFC’s Pro Bowl roster.  For Wagner the trip to the Pro Bowl will be his eighth consecutive trip, matching Russell quarterback Russell Wilson and Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy. Only Walter Jones another Hall of Famer has more with nine.

In a season that has seen the Seahawks defense lose Jamal Adams, two starting cornerbacks multiple defensive line injuries Wagner has managed to lead the Seahawks and the league with 158 tackles. Wagner has been named to a franchise-best six- first-team All-Pro. That squad has yet to be named.

GETTING BETTER EACH YEAR

For Diggs, the sky seems to be the limit as he continues to improve his play two and half years after his trade from the Detroit Lions. After the midseason trade in 2019  from the Lions Diggs had to adjust to playing a true deep cover safety. In 2020  Diggs adjusted to his new position with flying colors.

Earning his first Pro Bowl in 2020 after leading the NFC (T4th NFL) with a career-high five interceptions. It was the most interceptions by a Seahawks player since Earl Thomas recorded five in 2015. Diggs started all 16 games for the second time in his career and added a career-high 10 passes defended. This year Diggs has five of the Seahawk’s eight interceptions and is one of five players who have 10 or more interceptions over the past two seasons.
