Seahawks Game With The Rams Moved To Tuesday Night

The Seahawks scheduled Sunday match-up with the LA Rams has now been moved to Tuesday night with a start time of 4 p.m. due to the Rams squad being ravaged by a COVID-19 outbreak. The Rams Friday afternoon injury report listed 29 players on the COVID 19- list. Pale in comparison to the Seahawks who listed Tyler Lockett and Alex Collins. The two might now be able to play with the game day being moved back. Games aside the postponement of the game show the league is at a crossroads and in need of reexamining its league-wide COVID -19 protocols.

QUICK TURN AROUND ON THE BACK END

While the postponement will help both teams on the front end the Tuesday game day will mean the Seahawks will have just five days before their next game on December 26th at Lumen Field against the Chicago Bears.

“Yes, that’s a big concern. Any time you play on Thursday, or this is like a Friday game, I think, it’s a big burden on the players, it’s a big burden on the recovery time, and it’s not what their bodies want to do. They are trained to have a whole week to recover, and they don’t get it. In that regard, if our game could be moved back to Monday, that could help us some. I don’t know, that would kind of get in the middle of next week as well. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m not a fan of that for the player’s sake.”

Pete Carroll on wether he has concerns about five days between games.

MAKING THE MOST OF THE EXTRA TIME

When asked if the Rams should be penalized for their inability to field enough players Carroll took the high road and looked at the silver lining of the situation.

“Attitude is everything throughout all of these challenges, so I projected how we should look at it. We should take full advantage of it. We’re going to get more rest. We’re going to get more study time. We’re going to be better prepared because of it, and we’re going to utilize that time to kind of welcome the change. That’s what it is. Let’s make the most of it, and then we’ll deal with next week, next week. I stood for that message, conveyed that to them, and just judging from the way we worked today, they had a really good attitude about the day. Made it a great Friday for us.
