The Washington Huskies ( 2-2, 1-0 conf ) will face off against the Oregon State Beavers (3-1, 1-0) in a pivotal Pac 12 match-up Saturday evening in Corvallis. Here is a quick breakdown of the game using numbers that could dictate the outcome of the contest.
OREGON STATE REGISTERS MONUMENTAL WIN
Oregon State is coming off a 45-27 win over USC, the Beavers’ first in Los Angeles since 1960. The win also marked Oregon State’s first to open Pac-12 play since
2013 against Utah.
Oregon State’s 45 points against the Trojans marked OSU’s most-ever versus USC, surpassing the team’s 38 in 1914 – the first meeting between the teams.
The Beavers’ 322 rushing yards are the fourth-most by a USC opponent since 1996. And the second-most in a game held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Those 322 rushing yards mark OSU’s most against a conference opponent since finishing with 474 against California on Oct. 8, 2016.
The Beavers’ offense did not allow USC a tackle for loss. That’s the first time since 1993 against Pacific that OSU has not allowed at least one tackle for loss.
The Beavers last held an opponent without a sack in the 2020 finale against Arizona State.
OSU’s three interceptions are the Beavers’ most since finishing with three at Washington State on Nov. 23, 2019.
The Beavers scored on five consecutive drives in the win. Oregon State last did that on Nov. 2, 2019 at Arizona.
Pac-12 Honors
B.J. Baylor (Offensive) and Nathan Eldridge (Offensive Line) were named Pac12 Players of the Week Monday.
Baylor ran for 158 yards, rushing for eight first downs. Eldridge, meanwhile, helped the Beavers to 322 rush yards and 213 through the air. He started his 37th career game in the win.
Eldridge earned his second career honor. For Baylor, it was his first. Receiving Votes
Oregon State enters the matchup with Washington receiving four votes in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and seven in the AFCA Coaches rankings.
The Beavers are receiving votes in both rankings for the first time since the fifth week of the 2014 season. Speaking Of TFLs And Sacks
The Beavers have allowed just eight tackles for loss this season, which leads the nation. OSU has allowed only 38 TFL yards, which is second to Michigan’s five.
Oregon State, meanwhile, has allowed just three sacks over its first four games, which ranks first in the Conference.
