MITCH HANIGER NAMED AMERICAN LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger has been named American League Player of the Week for July 12-18. It is the 1^st such honor in Haniger’s career.

Haniger, 30, hit .455 (5×11) with 7 runs scored, 1 double, 2 home runs, 6 RBI, 2 walks, 1 hit-by-pitch, a .533 on-base percentage and a 1.091 slugging percentage (1.624 OPS) in 3 games to open the season’s second half. He has yet to strike out over 15 plate appearances following the All-Star Break.
